What’s New in the Design of the Volvo C40 Recharge
The newly launched Volvo C40 Recharge has a design that is quite similar to the XC40 Recharge, although the company has made several changes to make it stand out. For instance, it features Thor’s hammer-shaped LED DRLs along with a closed grille at the front. Furthermore, the company has done a lot of work on the front profile to give it a more distinct appearance.
Additionally, if we talk about its rear profile, it is equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels, while the rear has undergone significant changes, now presenting a sportier and coupe-style look. At the back, we can see new LED taillights and a new bumper.
Volvo C40 Recharge Cabin
Its cabin is similar to the Volvo XC40 Recharge, but the company has presented its interior in a unique way. Volvo has introduced it with new leather made from recycled materials, especially using ocean plastic and wood mixed with a metal blend, which is crafted by hand.
Looking at the leather seats, you won’t believe they are not traditional leather seats. Apart from this, the cabin design is similar to all other Volvo cars.
Volvo C40 Recharge Features
Speaking of features, the Volvo C40 Recharge comes with a 9-inch vertical touchscreen infotainment system. In addition to this, it features a 12.3-inch digital driver display and the technology of wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other highlights include the option of ventilated and heated seats for both the front and rear, height-adjustable driver’s seat, panoramic glass roof, dual-zone climate control, and a premium sound system by Harman Kardon. All these small features are also retained to continue enhancing the overall experience.

Volvo C40 Recharge Safety Features
In terms of safety features, Volvo has already incorporated standard 7 airbags. Other safety features include a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, adaptive cruise control, hill hold assist, and hill descent control. Additionally, it features advanced safety technology such as collision avoidance with address, blind-spot monitor system, automatic high beam system, emergency braking, and lane departure warning.
Battery Options and Charging
Compared to the Volvo XC40, it is operated with a larger 78-kilowatt-hour battery pack, claiming to provide a range of 530 kilometers on a full charge. To operate it, it generates power of 408 horsepower and 660 Newton-meters of torque with an electric motor, and this option comes with an all-wheel-drive system.
For charging the new C40, there is a provision of a 150-kilowatt fast charger, which can charge it from 10% to 80% in just 27 minutes. It charges faster than your smartphone’s charging options.
Price and Competition
The price of the new Volvo C40 Recharge in the Indian market is set at INR 61.25 lakh ex-showroom. While it doesn’t have direct competitors in the Indian market, several cars in this segment compete with it, such as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and BMW i4.
