The tallest player in Big Ten history, he was listed at 7 feet 4 inches.

There is little doubt that Edey would get this honor if it were presented today.

The best player on the AP poll's top-ranked squad is this 7'4" Canadian.

However, he is also averaging 22.6 points and 13.9 rebounds in video games.

After sharing the spotlight with Jaden Ivey and Trevion Williams last season, Edey is now the Boilermakers' main attraction.

He is playing a significant number of minutes for his size.

And he isn't just feeding on frontcourts that are too small. That is to say, Edey dominated the front lines of Duke and Gonzaga to lead Purdue to victory at PK85 in November.

It's difficult to imagine Edey won't be regarded as a major contender for this award come March, barring injuries or the Boilermakers truly struggling in conference play.
