How many games in NBA season

A team might feel secure knowing that they have proven themselves by enduring the travel experience necessary to win an NBA championship.

At least once a year, each NBA team visits the other 29 teams in the league.

In a typical season, each club plays 82 games. Thus, there are 1,230 games in each NBA season as a whole.

The 82-game season was first played in 1967–68, however, there have recently been concerns about shortening it.

Before the 82-game schedule was initially implemented, NBA clubs played between 68 and 80 games per season.

The 50-game lockout-shortened 1998–99 season and the 50-game lockout-shortened Teams played varied numbers of games in the 2011–12 season (66 games) and the 2019–20 season, which was cut short and moved due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

Finally, they all have less significance because there are 82 games. If there were 60–70 games instead of 82, losing three straight games would matter far more.

In concept, a restrictive schedule would increase the speed and provide excitement. Owners could be concerned about having fewer games to sell tickets for, but if fans are more interested in sixty games, demand might perhaps rise.
