Given that Carr could have played his final down with the Raiders, this substitution might not only be for the final two games of the regular season.

Vegas can save $30 million if the quarterback is dismissed or moved this coming summer, despite the fact that Carr signed a three-year, $121.5 million deal this past offseason.

The fact that Davante Adams and the veteran Raiders quarterback had previously played together at Fresno State in college was a major factor in Vegas' acquisition of the outstanding wide receiver this summer.

Coach McDaniels stated that Carr understands the circumstance and that this is an opportunity for a younger man who hasn't played much to earn his shot.
