J.J. Watt announces retirement after 2022 season:  NFL community celebrates legacy of perennial All-Pro 

An NFL Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt is going to leave the game.

After the 2022 season, Arizona Cardinals end J.J. Watt, one of the best defensive players, essentially announced retirement.

Watt received a draft from the Houston Texans with the No. 11 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. Before joining the Cardinals in 2021, Watt nearly spent 10 years with the team.

Making it an official retirement, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Watt posted a photo on social media with his wife and his son Koa.

In the NFL, Watt had the privilege of spreading his ideas both on and off the field.

A five-time first-team All-Pro who was chosen for the Pro Bowl five times and was awarded the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2017.
