Methods for observing the Orionid meteor shower without a telescope

What is Orionid?

Halley’s Comet, of which you may have heard, leaves behind a trail of small ice crystals and space dust known as the Orionids.

You may be lucky enough to see a beautiful display of meteors during the Orionid meteor shower, which peaks on October 21 and 22.

The shower will be visible throughout most of October and all of November. If you were disappointed by the lacklustre displays of the Perseids and Draconids this summer then you have a second opportunity in October.
