Due to a recent ankle injury, veteran starter Ryan Tannehill was already out of commission. Malik Willis, a rookie quarterback, is now anticipated to sit out the Dallas Cowboys game as well.

According to a CBS Sports report, the club will start recently signed quarterback Joshua Dobbs.

Given that Dobbs just a little over a week ago signed off the Detroit Lions practice squad, the decision is a bit unexpected.

Willis was selected by the Titans in the third round of this year's draft. This season, the former Liberty University standout has already filled in for Tannehill to start a few games while he was hurt.

Willis has a 1-2 record as a starter and hasn't yet convinced the team he's ready to assume the role of the permanent starter. He has thrown for 276 yards and three interceptions on 50.8% of his passes.

Additionally, Willis was regarded as an experiment when he graduated from college and still has to grow as a passer. The youngster has outstanding collegiate running ability. Plus, he has rushed for 123 yards and a rushing score this season.

Dobbs began playing in the NFL in 2017 and played for the Steelers during his first several seasons. Since then, he has largely worked as a journeyman backup for the Jaguars, Browns, and Lions. In 2020, he did re-join the Steelers.

To still qualify for the playoffs, Tennessee can afford to lose its game on Thursday.
